Journey=Travel along time or distance towards a goal or destination. A Journey may be physical or mental in nature. Represented in the Model by the line traveling around the Tetrahedron.
The CFA Journey Model puts fourth that our journeys begin with Courage. The Journeys we take in life are relative to who we are and our abilities. They are largely effected by our mental conditions (Emotional Intelligence), and cultural backgrounds. (Peter Solysts, PhD Student and friend). What may seem simple to some could be a daunting task to another or visa versa; this is important to note because the CFA Journey Model suits us all for whatever it may be we find ourselves reaching for. As we begin to travel towards a destination we move in cycles, and that during our journey's it is Faith that acts as the "dark matter" on which we move; Faith fuels the journey's we take. Then Actions of course are needed to physically or mentally move the distances that we need to travel to reach our desired Destination's.
These three components (Courage, Faith, & Action) are The Three Fundamental Requirements that any journey must have in my model. They are the foundations that must be built, fostered and rebuilt as we travel towards our Unique Destination's. As we move along the journeys path, these foundational parts operate in cycles and are interdependent with one another.
The foundation components can be High or Low in their nature, but must balance accordingly in order to reach a Stable Destination. It is important to note that, High or Low in this framework does not mean one is better or less than the other; it simply means that their level must be appropriate for what is needed to reach the destination. It is however critical in this model that they balance as I have stated with one another to construct the perfectly designed tetrahedron which dictates that all its sides be equal to have a pinnacle. (Destination) The levels at which they exist on a given journey will though play a role in the speed in which the journey takes place. For example, the pace that is set by the combination of Courage+/Faith+/Action+ will reach a Destination+ more rapidly than the same combination with CFA that is Low-, and is more likely to be a Low D- upon arrival.
For example on the importance of balance: One may have High Courage, Low Faith and still take High Actions, but this will not achieve a High Destination. Represented this may look like the following. John decides he would like to parachute from a plane. So, he finds courage and makes the decision to take classes to learn how to sky dive. As he moves along his journeys path, John has low faith, but yet he is taking high actions training to jump. During this time though, John's low faith that he can really jump is ever present; so when the time comes for him to board the plane, even though he has found the courage to train and set the goal, has taken the actions required to learn how to jump, his low faith keeps him from actually getting aboard and jumping from the plane.
….next time I will go into other examples and how the combinations work with one another in the CFA Journey Model.
Until then,
God Bless.
Danny
